What a Difference a Week Makes

The temperature has warmed up significantly this week.

And Evie has been loving the accessories that come out with sunshine!

We even got the wagon out for a walk around the neighborhood after Daddy got home on Sunday. This was the first walk all the way around the neighborhood in the wagon, usually we just get to play in the yard and driveway.

Isn't she just a little mini-queen lounging with her pillows and dolly.

We got Evelyn out of the wagon at the end of the driveway and let her run all the way to the house.

After all that fresh air we had to go to Moomers and get ice cream for the first time this spring. Evie ate an ice cream cone and then shared Momma and Daddy's ice cream.

More Snow Fun

After getting a little bit of sleep Dan went back out to continue clearing.

He shook the snow out of the trees.

Good thing he got a hatchet for Christmas.

The snow was deeper than the snow blower.

Evelyn loves to watch Daddy clear the driveway.

Our house from the road after it was all cleared.

Ripley is our little snow dog. He loves the snow!

What is with all the stuff being over my head. I can't see anything.

Heading towards Daddy.

Running back to Momma.

Okay, this is kinda fun!

In Like a Lion

This was the driveway about an hour before Dan got home last night.

Out the front door this morning.

Yes, Dan had to snow blow the driveway at 2 am just to get in the driveway. And yes, even though he shook the snow off the tree limbs at 2 am they are still touching the driveway again this morning.

View out the back door this morning.

Who needs kiddie bowls

Daddy left the serving bowl of pudding within reach as he went to get a small bowl to scoop some into for Evelyn. So she pulled it over and helped herself.

Kick Back and Relax

Evelyn loves to go for rides on the school bus that Aunt Abby and Uncle Max got her for Christmas.

The only problem is that Evelyn is like her Momma and likes to let someone else do the work while she enjoys the ride.

May as well put her feet up and be comfortable.

She does try to push herself, but still mainly goes backward.

She can get on and off all by herself, without falling.

And stores favorite treasures in the seat.

Valentine's Day

I know this is a few weeks late, but at least I'm finally getting to it.

We started out Valentine's Day with waffles with strawberries and whipped cream.

Evelyn's favorite part was the whipped cream.

Then she helped me mix up some cookie dough.

Then we spent some time playing with her new pink puppy dog. Her and Ripley fight over who gets to lay on it when she leaves it in the middle of the floor.

Daddy thought that the moose slippers really made the Valentine's Day outfit.

We finished the day with some milk and cookies.

Yum... frosting.

We had a great Valentine's Day. (Evie even got to share our lobster tails at dinner)

Grandpa's Girl

Evelyn is finally becoming a Grandpa's girl. She has been running around the house carrying his picture and yelling "Pa." And every time we chat on the computer with Grandma and Grandpa she yells if Grandpa leaves her sight. She still wants all of Grandma's attention too, she just hasn't figured out how to say Grandma yet.

Silly Little Monkey

Evelyn is becoming such a big girl and getting quite the silly personality. She is very shy around new people, but once she warms up, the goofy girl comes out. I don't have a good picture of it, but she has this really cute, scrunched up nose, smile that she gives to people once she decides to be friendly.

We tried coloring. She seemed to like it at first, but then she discovered that she could rip the paper and that was so much more fun than coloring. She also discovered that she could throw her crayons on the floor and break them. And since Momma hates broken crayons, we put them away for a couple of weeks and will have to try again soon.

Happy little artist!

Everyday (so long as it's not blizzarding) Evelyn and I take Ripley for a walk in the morning. That is when Evelyn takes her morning nap. Lately she hasn't been waking up immediately when we get home, so I lay her on the living room floor amongst her morning mess and she sleeps for another 10 minutes or so.

Daddy discovered that Evelyn loves powdered sugar donut holes.

The other day I didn't get the floors mopped while Evelyn was napping so I shut the gate upstairs and let her play in the room where I could still hear her and check on her as I worked. And this is what I came up to after I finished cleaning downstairs.

I have been working on some spring craft projects and Evelyn got ahold of my tape measure. So she decided to run around looking like Grandma. Grandma's sewing skills may have skipped a generation, but it looks like Evie wants to learn!

Fat Tuesday Pazcki!

More powdered sugar donut holes.

Evelyn has been doing a really good job using silverware. She wants to feed herself and use silverware at every meal. Baby silverware is very blunt and difficult to stab and pick up food with, so we got her some seafood forks and demitasse spoons. Now she is a pro! Still a bit messy, but quite successful most of the time.

Such an Silly Monkey!
