We had a great Halloween week!
Unfortunately there was no costume day for preschool this year, but there was costume day at dance class and that was a lot of fun!

On Thursday I gutted all four pumpkins while Evelyn was in school to make it an easier and more enjoyable carving experience after Dan got home from work.

All of Simon's pictures were blurry because of the constant motion, so this was the best I could get of him with his jackolantern |

Halloween was a busy full day even though I tried to prep as much as I could on Thursday.
 |
We started with ghost pancakes (with sprinkles). |
We went trick-or-treating downtown in the afternoon with our friends, Finn and Isla. Unfortunately I have no pictures from that as it was crazy busy and Dan was at work so my hands were full.
Dan did get home from work just in time to go trick-or-treating in the neighborhood. We figured we would be out for about half an hour, but we were wrong. We told Evelyn we could only go to the houses with lights on so she pointed out every house with a light. Simon wanted to walk on his own, not get carried or ride in the stroller. So we trick-or-treated for the entire hour and half. Both kids loved it. Evelyn is still a bit shy, but she did say trick-or-treat and thank you and she would very carefully take one candy out of the bowl, unless she was told she could take more. Simon didn't say anything, but would have gladly emptied every candy bowl we came to.

Pretty tired too |

The pile is actually even more impressive than it looks here. They got at least half a dozen full size candy bars. |
I made the mistake of letting Evelyn watch Rachel Ray one day last week and then HAD to make the spooky spaghetti and everything else that she saw on the show.

Dinner spread (who needs veggies on Halloween) |
