Summer Vacation 2012

Due to lack of planning on our part we had our one and only vacation for the summer the last week of June.  We, along with Gran and Papa, went to visit friends in the Philadelphia area.  Papa drove from Bad Axe to Philadelphia in 13 hours.  Evie did a great job on the drive.  She didn't sleep any more than her usual amount and we didn't have to bring our the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse until the last half hour.  From there just the three of us traveled on to spend one day in Baltimore with Erin and Brandon.  We finished off vacation with a couple of quick visits to family in Ohio.  It was a great 10 days!  (Please forgive the number of pictures I acknowledge my illness and have no plans to seek treatment.)

The first full day of vacation we went with Johnny and Caryn to see Caryn's horse.
Evie loved watching Caryn ride.
Ever since we got back Evie has been trying to get her babies and stuffed animals to ride on Ripley, he is not so sure about this plan.

Coloring as we're getting ready to leave for Longwood Gardens.
Johnny practicing with Evie's backpack. So excited for their little boy to arrive in November!
When we first got to the children's garden Evie wasn't so sure about jumping in on the action.
Then she found spitting lizards!
Such an Evelyn look.
Cheese!
Once she started splashing, there was no stopping her.

I think this was the closest she came to Johnny the whole trip and that was only because he was giving her a flower.

John and Gran at the gardens.
Looking at Papa's pictures.
Taking a break in the shade.
Outside the National Aquarium with Erin and Brandon.
She loved watching all the fish and especially the turtles.
View of the aquarium across the Inner Harbor.
Evie really wanted to ride the dragon boats, we saved that for next time.
Butterfly girl.
Four Generations in Ohio.
The only picture I have from Jeni's party in Ohio.  Evie loved playing with the big kids and their toys.
Relaxing after the graduation party with Great-Grandma.
It was a wonderful vacation, very relaxing and enjoyable.  Thank you go John and Nabilah for hosting us for most of the trip.
