We had a busy but fun Thanksgiving and Evelyn's Birthday weekend. Papa came up for Thanksgiving day and after dinner he and Simon tried to relax for a little while. Simon was a big fan of Thanksgiving dinner. The turkey had to go in the food processor, but most everything else he could eat as it was.
The day after Thanksgiving was Evelyn's 3rd Birthday! She got a Boomaphone from Gran and Papa and I consider it a gift to all of us that is has a nice mellow sound.
Simon's happy little face on Evelyn's big day. I was trying to get a picture of his first tooth that popped through on Thanksgiving day, but no luck.
It is pretty rare for Evelyn to take naps anymore and even less common for her to want to sit and snuggle, so I took advantage on her birthday and cuddled for a little while. I think this picture is probably very similar to some pictures from 3 years ago.
After dinner on Friday we decorated the Christmas tree. Simon was having fun!
It may not seem like it from this pose, but Evelyn was really excited about the Santa bubble nightlight.
On Saturday Erin, Cheri, and Jack came to visit. It had to be a short visit, but it was a lot of fun to see the boys together. They are only three months apart and will have a wonderful friendship in the future.
I'm not sure if Simon was trying to buckle Jack in or help him escape. |
This was the closest I got of the kids all looking at the camera. |
Evelyn was very excited to have a new audience. |

She even got out a puppet to entertain the boys. |
Disclaimer: Evelyn likes to pick out her own outfits and hairstyles these days.
We have been working on getting out more Christmas decorations over the past week. Evie loves the Santa advent calendar. Every morning she asks if it is a new day and if she can get a toy out of Santa's bag.
She got to put a bigger tree up in her room this year and arranging ornaments is serious business.
It was very exciting to plug in the Christmas lights and turn off the big light and admire her very own tree. We may never get to take it down again.
We have been doing more holiday projects around here everyday, so hopefully I will get more posts up before Christmas gets here this year.
Happy Holiday prep!!
