Milestones

Evelyn has passed a couple of milestones lately.

She started eating solid food, or at least rice cereal, about a month ago. It took us a few nights to get the consistency figured out and for her to decide if cereal was a good thing or not. Now she loves it! I'm looking forward to trying some new foods soon.

I started giving her a sippy cup with some water in it as well. She kept grabbing my glass and pulling it to her mouth so I put a little water in her sippy cup and gave it to her and now she wants that whenever she sees me having a drink. I don't think she is really drinking very much yet. But she knows how to hold the cup and which end to put in her mouth, so when the time comes that she needs to drink she'll be all set.

She is also sleeping in her own crib in her own room all night by herself. I think this may have been harder for me than it was for her. We had hoped to make this transition at about 4 months, but since she was sick we put it off until 5 months. I had started putting her in her crib after her night feeding since it was usually around 6am and time for me to get up anyway and so when it came time for her to be in there all night she really didn't seem to notice.

Evie is also starting to roll over both tummy-to-back and back-to-tummy. She had one really good day of rolling tummy-to-back about a week and a half ago, but hasn't done it without prompting since. But just today she started rolling back-to-tummy all on her own. Soon she will probably figure out she can move that way so Ripley had better watch out. He is about to loose his peaceful life.
