Bed and Pumpkin and Princess... Oh My

We started our Halloween week by converting Evelyn's crib into a toddler bed.  I did this before naptime and Evelyn was "helping."  She kept trying to climb onto the bed as I was disassembling and reassembling and bringing me pieces saying "Momma fix bed."  I think she was a little worried about where she was going to sleep.  We decided to do this for the next month before she goes into her big girl bed.  We're aiming to have the big girl room finished for her birthday at the end of the month.

If you look closely you can see the big grin on her face as she reads in her new bed.

We actually went to the pumpkin farm the week before Halloween, but I figured since I hadn't gotten the pictures posted we would just combine it with all the other pumpkin pictures.

We were a little a late in the season to actually go into the field to pick out our pumpkins, but Evelyn had a great time picking from the selection on the grass.
Just running through the pumpkins was fun!

Evelyn picked out the ugliest pumpkin there for Daddy.

She found an empty corn cob in the corn maze and was very excited.

Posing with our pumpkins when we got home.  You can't really tell, but there are two pumpkins behind Evie and another one that she is sitting on.

We picked up a couple of smaller pumpkins to paint as well.  Evelyn started painting with her finger.

But soon switched to a brush.

Finished product!  I tried to use tape to make a face on one of the pumpkins, but it didn't show up all that well.
Side note: if you use washable finger paints and then put the pumpkins out on a rainy Halloween you get the chance to paint them again because the rain will wash them clean.

Now for Halloween night!

We were going to try to have Evelyn dress up as a pirate, but she insisted she wanted to be a princess, so a princess she was.

Ready and waiting for us to take her out!  She was not in the mood to pose for pictures.

Before we got too wet, all bundled up in her princess outfit Gran made that adjusts so well that a winter coat was worn underneath.

As soon as we came in Evelyn and Ripley had to go through the pumpkin and check out all the good treats.  Evelyn wouldn't say Trick or Treat to any of the neighbors, but she did say "Thank you" every time.

And last by not least... our three pumpkins all carved and lit up!

Happy Halloween!
